His quiet riding with nearly invisible aids on a variety of horses have been rewarded by the judges as well as by Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery, North American distributor of Neue Schule bits. Metlar named Klimke the latest recipient of the Neue Schule Best Hands Award in recognition of his superb hands and excellent contact through the bit with his horses. During the Adequan Global Dressage Festival 10 CDI-W, Klimke and his own Fineliner 2, a 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Florencio I-Relana, Regazonni), notched two first-place finishes in the FEI Intermediaire II with a 71.171 percent and a 67.237 percent. "He is in the stage between small tour to big tour," Klimke explained about Fineliner 2. "I won the CDI Prix St. Georges in January with him, and now he has stepped forward to win the Intermediare II. My proudest moment with him is, that I found that he can be a good Grand Prix horse and I know that he's trying hard." Fineliner and Michael Klimke:
