Destano, black Hanoverian , by (Desperados / Brentano II ) born in 2007, standing approximately 16.3 hands.
Premium stallion with enormous potential. A good-sized black stallion with a modern silhouette, correct conformation and the best character. Supple and dynamic, he knows how to put on a first class presentation by showing off his gaits. As expected with such a pedigree, he's highly rideable, very intelligent and eager to learn. Destano won tests for young riding horses in 2010 and took his 30-day test in Schlieckau which he finished with extra class results: Character (8.50), trot (8.69), canter (8.50), walk (8.56), rideability (9.13) and jumping ability (8.88) which all added together to an outstanding final score of 8.85. His sire, Desperados, made an impressive debut as a sire in 2009 and 2010 at various German licensing venues and after winning the German Dressage Derby in 2010 he's right on victory road in sport. The dam's sire, Brentano II, is stationed at the State Stud in Celle. This dark chestnut stallion won his licensing, was a finalist at the Bundeschampionat and was then trained to Grand Prix. Because of his outstanding merits as a dressage horse maker (he sired world class horses such as Barclay II/Sven Rothenberger, Brentina/Debbie Mc Donald and many others) he was honored in 2003 with the "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year" award. The good sized Anglo-Norman stallion Imperator, Wenzel I, Absatz, Valentino xx and Lateran/Trakehner found in the further generations of this dam line are all first rate breeding stallions that were stationed at the traditional Stedebergen Station (near Verden).
Destano's special feature is his first class Hanoverian dam line – 749/Eckernförde II (by Erlkönig/Trakehner-Neon-Optimist, etc.) – which is also the origin of such well-known stallions as the famous brothers, Argentan I and II, Downtown (private stallion NL), Hochfein (State Stud Marbach), Labadia (private stallion Thuringa), the Olympic horse Lancet (private stallion NL, Hesse, internationally successful with Imke Schellekens-Bartels/NL and Emma Hindle/GBR), Sinclair B (private stallion Bavaria, Rhineland-Pfalz, Turinga) and Western Star (State Stud Celle). They also represent the line of the queen of many broodmare shows and the DLG Champion Mare, Goldlady, whose grandsons, Frenchman I and II, are currently highly popular sires. In Holstein this line is registered with number 8777 and there as well, it is the origin of the first class half-brothers, Calvin Z and the luminous Cantus as well as Lansing, who all became top jumper-makers.
