A noble stallion par excéllence. Fontane, a strong type, brilliant moving young stallion from the first crop of the double dressage horse World Champion Florencio caught all eyes at the Oldenburg licensing. Finishing on fourth place in a conspicuously strong premium ring, he especially stood out because of the excellent mechanics of his trot held in motion by active hindquarters. His ground-covering, uphill canter and skilled jumping also brought enthusiastic applause.
Fontane's pedigree joins some the greatest stallions in breeding history: His grandsire Florestan I made himself immortal in the pedigrees of many international sport horses, most recently Floriano who took fourth place under Steffen Peters/USA in the last World Championships. He also produced an entire armada of strong performing stallions. Donnerhall has long been designated a stallion of the century and Goldstern produced not only numerous top jumpers but also strong dressage horses. The pedigree is pleasingly perfected by a shot of Thoroughbred in the fourth generation through Makuba.
The Oldenburg dam line of Meerperle is also known for the licensed stallions Sinatra Gold, Largon, the advanced (S) level show jumpers Ritzenhoff’s Balou and Pyrol as well as the advanced (S) level dressage horse, Rhay-Ban.
