FiveStars HW, bay Rhineland gelding, by For Romance I/Sir Donnerhall, born in 2019, standing approximately 172 cm or 16.3 hands.

FiveStars HW, is a clone to his sire, in everything we could hope for. He is by the Oldenburg Champion For Romance - the epitome of a model sire - and from a Voltaire dam line that has been accorded great success. Blessed with three excellent gaits, his canter and trot can only be described with superlatives and his character is also noteworthy. He stood out brilliantly in the strong lot of stallions at the 2011 Oldenburg Verband licensing and the enthusiastic spectators in Vechta gave him standing ovations.

As expected, For Romance passed his 30-day test in Schlieckau with super scores. He received a 9.25 for his trot and rideability, a 9.0 for his canter and an 8.88 for character. 

In the third generation of his pedigree you find Don Schufro who took the Danish Champion title and won team bronze at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong under Andreas Helgstrand/DEN. He is also the sire of many champions.

For Romance's dam line goes back to Voltaire, a Furioso II son who was well-known in breeding and sport the world over. This line is also the origin of the licensed stallions Dusty, Furinos and Platino as well as many international sport horses that were highly successful in show jumping as well as dressage.

His sire, Fürst Romancier, was licensed in 2007 and made headlines just two years later when he took fourth place in the World Championships for young dressage horses in the class for five year olds and also fourth place at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. Matthias Alexander Rath has taken over Fürst Romancier's training. In 2012, For Romance’s full sister Fasine took the Oldenburg Champion Mare title – a feat that is so far unique in the history of the Oldenburg Verband.

The dam's sire, Sir Donnerhall I, gained trademark status early on in his career. He was the 2nd Reserve Champion at his licensing, State Champion, the record-breaking winner of his stallion performance test, Vice World Champion of young dressage horses and Bundeschampion as well as the main premium winner of stallions with emphasis on dressage. More than 50 of his sons have been licensed. In 2010, three of his progeny took Vice Bundeschampion titles in Warendorf: Silbermond – the NRW Champion Stallion, Appassionata and the licensed Snap Shot. He has also siree numerous top auction horses.

For Romance I has been honored as the VTV Oldenburg Dressage Stallion of the Year 2019 at the Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta, Germany, on Saturday 23 November 2019. This highly prestigious award is given to a licensed, Oldenburg stallion for his outstanding achievements in sport and breeding. On the occasion of the Stallion Gala, For Romance I OLD and Chap II was decorated with the VTV sash in the Oldenburg Horse Center Vechta.

Heiko Meinen, head of the R+V VTV General Agency, which is specialized in insuring animals, once again took the opportunity this year to reward the breeder, as well as the owner by handing each of them a generous check in the amount of 1,000 euro for their great achievements in breeding.

The splendid career of For Romance I  OLD, born in 2009 by Fürst Romancier out of Gesina by Sir Donnerhall I - Don Schufro - Sandro - Gepard, bred by Gestüt Lewitz, and owned by Dressurpferde Leistungszentrum Lodbergen GmbH, was launched in 2011 when the Dressurpferde Leistungszentrum Lodbergen acquired the celebrated champion stallion of Oldenburg licensing on the Oldenburg stallion market.

Carefully schooled by former auction rider Kira Wulferding and successful in dressage horse tests in classes A through M, this gorgeous stallion celebrated his first triumph in 2016 in advanced classes as well as a place in the top ten at the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal finals in the same year. In late 2017, For Romance I OLD’s further athletic development was taken over by Lodbergen’s head trainer, Therese Nilshagen. This year the pair won silver in both the Intermediaire II tests and the Short Grand Prix.

Romance possesses extremely good rideability and collection. Working together with our trainer Klaus Balkenhol, we now want to concentrate on making him stronger, making optimal use of his excellent hindquarters and work carefully towards Grand Prix sport. Although For Romance I OLD is in great demand as a breeding stallion, he is incredibly sweet and will do almost anything for a lump of sugar. He’s also extremely well-behaved, even when other horses are in the arena

The 36-year-old Swedish trainer took bronze at the European Championship in Rotterdam this year with her other Oldenburg ambassador, Dante Weltino OLD. This black beauty is not just thrilling horse fans in sport. He’s also sired about 30 licensed and price-winning stallions, including the champion stallions Fashion in Black and Feuerwerk, the HLP champions Ferrero and Fidelio Royal and numerous premium stallions including For Final OLD, national vice-champion and third-place winner in the state championship, likewise stationed at Lodbergen. For Romance I OLD has also sired more than 80 premium mares and numerous championship winners.

Romance I  OLD is a full brother to premium stallion For Romance II, licensed in 2015 in Vechta, For Romance III, licensed in 2019 in Redefin, and champion elite mare and national champion Fasine OLD. He is also half-brother to 2015 Mecklenburg licensing champion Feinrich and to 2017 Oldenburg champion mare Fürstin Gesine by Fürst Heinrich. Romance I OLD's dam line goes back to the renowned sire Voltaire.

FiveStar HW's dam sire Sir Donnerhall I , is amongst the top four in the WBFSH Ranking of the best dressage sires in the world. In the current ranking of the world's best dressage sires, Sir Donnerhall I is already in third place, having made it into the top ten for the first time last year. He is even placed ahead of his sire Sandro Hit, who was number one in the world in 2021 and is now placed eighth. Again and again Sir Donnerhall I set unique records with his heredity. In addition to Special Diva OLD (2014) and Smirnoff (2016), their full siblings Cindy OLD (2013), Sir Heinrich (2014), Candy OLD (2017), Caty OLD (2018) and Casey OLD (2020) won gold medals at the German Championships. Candy OLD and Casey OLD were also Oldenburg Champion Mares and thus lead the crowd of over 380 award winning daughters of Sir Donnerhall I . Candy OLD also won the bronze medal at the World Championships for young dressage horses (5y.o.). Sa Coeur became double World Champion and price highlight of the P.S.I Auction, with a knockdown price of 2.31 million euros and has been placed in international Grand Prix competitions. He is only one of the many auction price record holders by Sir Donnerhall I.

He has produced over 100 licensed stallions, including numerous champion and premium stallions as well as Sir Olli/Enrique Cruces Fernandez/ESP, bronze medallist at the World Championships for young dressage horses and successful in Grand Prix.

Many of Sir Donnerhall I's daughters have produced stallions, as can be seen with our Champion Stallions Dynamic Dream, Feinrich and Fynch Hatton, our Regional Champion Zauberlehrling PS OLD, our stallion Don Romance PS OLD, who was placed third at the Regional Championships, our stallion Sezuan's Donnerhall, double stallion performance test record winner, our Ib main premium winner Total Diamond PS, as well as Glock's Total U.S./Edward Gal/NED, placed fifth at the Olympics, and Force Majeure ex. Fürst Bayram OLD/Frederic Wandres, 1.7 million euro price sensation of the P.S.I. Auction, Oldenburg Regional Champion, who was placed eleventh at the German Championships for young dressage horses. The Oldenburg Champion Mare, German Champion and P.S.I. record top price Fasine OLD and her full brother For Romance II have a dam by Sir Donnerhall I. At the German Foal Championships in 2019, Sir Donnerhall I produced another exceptional foal, the second placed filly. In 2021, Sammy de Luxe won the Austrian Warmblood Foal Championships.

Sir Donnerhall I  was second Reserve Champion at the Oldenburg licensing in 2003, winner of his stallion performance test and awarded the Ia main premium in 2005, and German Champion and Vice World Champion (5y.o.) in 2006. He is now trained to advanced level. Due to the high breeding demands, he is no longer competed. His sire Sandro Hit, World Champion and German Champion, very quickly made a name for himself as a foundation stallion in dressage horse breeding. His dam St.Pr.St. Contenance D, also produced his full brother, Sir Donnerhall II/Morgan Barbançon/ESP, licensed stallion, double World Cup finalist and World Championship, European Championship and Olympic participant, Rubberball (by Rubinstein), AES licensed stallion and Stratege/Cora Jacobs, also successful in Grand Prix. His dam's sire is the sire of the century Donnerhall. Sir Donnerhall is following in the footsteps of this revolutionary sire Sandro Hit.
